ZAGREB, July 4 (Hina) - The Croatian national parliament's House of Representatives will commence an extraordinary session on 12 July, and a day before the House of Counties will be in session as well. The Government requested the
extraordinary sessions of the Sabor's houses at which projects for reforms of some important sectors could be discussed and adopted. MP will consider about 20 items on the agenda, including the motion for beginning with changes of the Croatian Constitution, the Sabor Presidency said. The Parliament's houses should discuss plans for reforms in public health, health insurance and the power sector so that laws on the matter could be prepared until autumn. Draft laws on improvement of the position of retirees and workers will be given for consideration. There is also a package of draft laws on the economic recovery and
growth in the housebuilding, particularly in the areas of the
special state concern.
In order to adjust the country's legislation for Croatia's
admission to the World Trade Organisation (WTO), the Government has
proposed some changes in customs laws, legislation concerning the
Value Added Tax (VAT) and financing the local government and self-
government.
In addition, the Government has proposed to the Sabor to appoint the
new governor of the Croatian National Bank (HNB), his deputy and
members of the HNB Council.
