U.S. SENATE VOICES UNANIMOUS SUPPORT TO CROATIA

WASHINGTON, June 27 (Hina) - The United States Senate unanimously adopted a resolution expressing support to Croatia's government in effecting democratic changes in the country. The resolution, issued on Monday, says the Congress strongly supports Croatia's choosing western democratic standards and will extend full support to Croatia's new government to entirely implement democratic changes. Special support is given programmes on refugee returns, privatisation, changes in the media, and continued cooperation with the International Criminal Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia in The Hague, as an example for other countries in the region. The U.S. Senate also concluded it was necessary to promote economic, political and military relations with Croatia, as a U.S. partner in south and central Europe.
