ZAGREB, June 28 (Hina) - The Association of Workers' Trade Unions of Croatia (URSH) strongly protested the government's failure to amend a law on the rights and duties of parliament representatives before it came into force earlier
this month. URSH pointed out in Wednesday's statement the said law gave former and current MPs privileges as in no other country in transition. According to the statement, at a time when there are increasingly fewer lucky ones still working, when 70 percent of pensioners live below the level of human dignity, struggling to survive, the government should not have forgotten to amend that immoral law, which was passed by the former Croatian Democratic Union elite. Reminding that amendments to the said law had been one of the main pre-electoral promises of the ruling coalition, URSH urged the government to motion amendments at once.(hina) ha jn
