PICULA MEETS SLOVENE, BOSNIAN, BELORUSSIAN COUNTERPARTS

SEGEDIN, June 24 (Hina) - Croatian Foreign Minister Tonino Picula, who on Saturday attended a summit of the Central European Initiative in Segedin, Hungary, held bilateral talks with his counterparts from Slovenia, Bosnia-Herzegovina and Belorussia. The fact that the meeting with Slovenia's Lojze Peterle lasted more than an hour "proves that there is a wish to break the impasse" and try to solve some problems before the elections in Slovenia, Picula said. "We supported a realistic approach in resolving those problems and agreed on more frequent meetings, of which some will take place already this summer," Picula said in a short statement to reporters. The two ministers agreed that in resolving open problems, one should start from the less difficult ones. Picula and his Bosnian counterpart Jadranko Prlic agreed that relations between the two countries had improved significantly in the last several months. Howeve

The two ministers agreed that in resolving open problems, one should start from the less difficult ones. Picula and his Bosnian counterpart Jadranko Prlic agreed that relations between the two countries had improved significantly in the last several months. However, they also expressed mild dissatisfaction with the fact that activities on concrete agreements were not following a new, completely positive atmosphere between the two countries. Belorussia's Ural Latipov informed the Croatian minister of his country's view regarding the situation in the region. Picula presented Croatia's experience regarding requirements a country should meet in the field of internal affairs with the aim of being accepted as a partner by the international community.
