ZAGREB, June 20 (Hina) - Deputy Defence Minister Zlatko Gareljic on Tuesday left Croatia for Greece, where he will attend the annual meeting of the deputy defence ministers of south-east Europe (SEDM) initiative. This is the first
time Croatia participates in the meeting, and it has the status of observer, the Defence Ministry reported. The SEDM is an initiative started at a meeting of ministers in Tirana in March 1996. It is aimed at strengthening cooperation between south-east European countries, Italy and the United States in the field of defence, the report said. The initiative, which is developed in the spirit of Partnership for Peace, is also aimed at facilitating the integration of south-east European countries into trans-Atlantic associations.(hina) mm rml
