ROME ROME, May 29 (Hina) - Croatia participated for the first time on Monday at a meeting of the Trilateral, consisting Slovenia, Hungary and Italy, in Rome. The meeting focused on the situation in the region and the Stability Pact
for the Southeast of Europe. At a meeting of the Adriatic-Ionic initiative which took place in Ancona ten days ago, it had been announced that Croatia would access the Trilateral, making it a Quadrilateral, which was accomplished at this meeting in Rome. Croatia's joining the group will be officially announced at an autumn meeting at the level of prime ministers. The Rome meeting also focused on relations with the European Union, especially in the context of the recent adoption of a feasibility study on Croatia's joining the EU. Croatian Assistant Foreign Minister Vladimir Drobnjak held separate talks with the under-secretary of the Italian Foreign Ministry, Umberto Ranieri.(hina) lml
