CROATIA AND ROMANIA CONSIDER POSSIBLE AREAS FOR CLOSE COOPERATION

ZAGREB, June 12 (Hina) Croatia's Deputy Foreign Minister Vesna Cvjetkovic Kurelec on Monday held talks with a Romanian parliamentary delegation. They considered possibilities of promoting the cooperation between the two countries, particularly in the economic sector. Emphasis was given on plans to construct the Constanta-Trieste oil pipe-line, on lifting the blockade from the Danube river and on cooperation in tourism. According to a statement issued by the Foreign Ministry, Cjetkovic Kurelec and the Romanian guests viewed the Stability Pact for South Eastern Europe as a framework for broader cooperation between countries in the region. Both parties, being neighbours to the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia (FRY), advocated the strengthening of democratic processes in Serbia and Montenegro with the aim to contribute to the stabilisation of the entire region.(hina) ms
