ZAGREB, June 8 (Hina) - Croatia's President Stjepan Mesic on Thursday received a delegation of an international society called "Academia Europaea". The delegation consisted of the academy's founder Sir Arnold Burgen, Professor
Duddeck, Dr. Peter Colyer and academicians Boris Kamenar and Ivo Slaus, read a statement released by the Croatian President's Office. They told Mesic they would like to help Croatia in its bids to enter European integration processes, via research programmes. The President and the delegation agreed that science has great importance and it is a mechanism that unites peoples, contributing to the economic progress. "Academia Europaea" was established in 1988 as an international non-governmental organisation of scholars and scientists whose aim is to promote education and research.
