ZAGREB, June 12 (Hina) - Shop assistants' union in NAMA - a chain of stores - on Monday announced it would not go on strike, which was announced for Tuesday. Following Monday's talks with NAMA management, the union SRTN said they gave
up the industrial action due to be held tomorrow. Today the management promised to notify the SRTN by Friday about the date for the payment of three back salaries and the amount which is going to be paid to employees. The management assumed the commitment to submit to a co-ordination body - consisting of officials of the Croatian Privatisation Fund, the Economy Ministry and the Privredna Bank Zagreb - a programme of re-organisation of this company in the pre-bankruptcy procedure and that during that time it would try to get guarantees for the payment of redundancy money to workers who will be laid off.
