ZAGREB, May 17 (Hina) - The Croatian Government will discuss a package of bills on the tax system on Thursday, Government spokeswoman Aleksandra Kolaric said. The Government will decide about changes to the Law on Value Added Tax and
the Law on Excise Taxes on Oil Products, Vehicles, Alcohol, Beer, Coffee, Tobacco and Luxury Products at the closed part of tomorrow's session. At the open part of the session the Government will discuss only a bill on changes to the Law on Profit Tax. The Government has been debating for two days a bill on reducing the current VAT rate from 22 to 19 percent and it is expected that the final decision will be made tomorrow. Apart from the reduction of the VAT rate, government officials have also announced that they will propose the extension of the deadline for the payment of the VAT from the tenth day of the month to the end of the month.
