congressmen Benjamin Gilman, George Radanovich and John Cooksey
and thanked them on the support of the United States Congress to
Croatia.
Radanovich as a motioner, Gilman as the president of the committee
for international relations and Cooksey as a member of the House of
Representatives, along with their Congress colleagues on Monday
expressed support to Croatia's joining the Partnership for Peace

The resolution, which was endorsed unanimously, read that the
United States advocated the promotion of Croatian-American
economic, political and military connections and consider Croatia

Zuzul particularly thanked Gilman and Radanovich on their support
to Croatia in the most difficult times.
Gilman expressed interest in the economy programme of the Croatian
Government and the continuation of the privatisation. He also
expressed readiness to promote American-Croatian economic
cooperation.
All three members of the United State Congress were satisfied with
the visit of the US Secretary of State Madeleine Albright to Zagreb
and believe it is important that Croatian President Stipe Mesic and
Prime Minister Ivica Racan officially visit Washington as soon as
possible.
