SARAJEVO, May 12 (Hina) - Participants in a conference Stability Pact for Southeast Europe member-states held in Sarajevo over the past two days agreed on the need to form a special task force for mine-clearing issues. They called on
potential donors to invest more money in view of clearing mine-fields from last decade's war. The task force will hold meetings in the countries of the region directly endangered by undiscovered mine-fields. It was concluded during an analysis of the current situation that the region's countries would have to deal with mines for another ten to 20 years. The "Humanitarian Demining Initiative" conference was organised by the Stability Pact, and Bosnia-Herzegovina's Foreign Ministry and Mine Action Centre. Attending were representatives from BH, Croatia, Slovenia, Canada, Russia, the World Bank, the European Commission and the Stability Pact's task forces.(hina) ha jn
