ZAGREB, April 11 (Hina) - Workers' unions of the Croatian Post (HP)
and the Croatian Telecom (HT) and associations of retired HT and HP
workers on Tuesday forwarded to the Government a draft on the
participation of current and former HP and HT employees in the
second phase of privatisation of the Croatian Telecom, which
according to the Government should take place this autumn.
The Croatian Union of Post and Telecommunications, Coordination
Committee of Societies and Associations of HP and HT Retirees,
Coordination of HP Unions, National Union of HP and HT Workers, and
the Union of HP and HT Workers remind the Government that it is bound
by the Law on the Privatisation of the HT to establish the form of
the sale, as well as the price, discount, payment conditions, the
time of the sale of shares and other conditions under which shares
will be sold to current and former HT and HP workers.
The unions suggest that the nominal price of HT shares amount to 100
kuna per share and that each interested current or former employee
be entitled to a 20-percent discount and an additional discount of
one percent for each year of service.
According to the draft, all current and former HT and HP employees
would be entitled to buy shares.
The unions and associations also request that their
representatives participate in the adoption of criteria for the
sale of HT shares.
The Croatian government announced for autumn the sale of 21 percent
of HT shares through public bidding and the sale of seven percent of
HT shares to former and current employees, which should take place
after the sale of shares through public bidding.
