ZAGREB, April 7 (Hina) - The Independent Union of Catering and Tourist Trade Workers of Croatia on Friday warned the Government it would organise protests in a week's time if workers at the national park Plitvice Lakes are not given
their two last pays or guarantees. In a letter sent to the Government, the Union warns about the difficult situation the employees are in, which is additionally aggravated by the lack of alternative employment in the area. Stressing that they are aware that protests are being announced at a time when the state is in a very difficult economic situation, the union asks for understanding because, it claims, many families are forced to even buy bread on credit. "Simply put, the struggle for survival has started," reads the letter, which was also sent to the Ministry of Construction, Zoning and Environmental Protection and the Tourism Ministry.(hina) rml
