PARLIAMENT PRESIDENT RECEIVED GREEK AMBASSADOR

ZAGREB, April 6 (Hina) - Croatian National Parliament President Zlatko Tomcic and Greek Ambassador Stavros Georges Christian Vassilopoulos on Thursday held talks about Croatia's place in the European Union and NATO, agreeing that it had to be a stabilising factor in the wider region. During the meeting the two sides assessed that the Adriatic-Ionic highway project was exceptionally important not only for tourism and other branches of the economy, but also as a means of political connections in which European countries must be convinced which are so far not showing sufficient understanding for the endeavour. Tomcic and Vassilopoulos discussed the political situation in the Balkans and expressed concern for possible conflicts in Montenegro and Kosovo.
