ZAGREB, March 30 (Hina) - Croatia could become a member of NATO's
Partnership for Peace programme at NATO's May conference in
Florence, Italy, British Ambassador to Croatia Colin Munro said in
Zagreb on Thursday.
Croatia's membership in the programme will be an opportunity for
Croatia and Great Britain to work together on achieving stability
in Bosnia-Herzegovina, the ambassador said.
Addressing an Institute for International Relations diplomatic
forum which discussed "Great Britain and Croatia: Partners in Euro-
Atlantic Integration", Munro said an impressive progress had been
achieved in bilateral relations since the change of authority in
Croatia earlier this year.
Croatia's strategic goal is integration with Euro-Atlantic
structures, which corresponds to Great Britain's efforts aimed at
an Europeisation of the Balkans, the ambassador said.
Munro announced Britain's co-operation in and support to Croatia's
access to the World Trade Organisation, the signing of an agreement
on stabilisation and association with the European Union, and
technical assistance in implementing EU programmes in Croatia.
The ambassador also announced Britain's expert assistance in
creating conditions necessary for Croatia to attract foreign
investments, and co-operation with Croatia's Ministry for European
Integration.
The time of Croatia's integration with European structures depends
on Croatia, Munro said.
