Twenty million German marks would be invested already this year,
via the Euroline company, Daimler-Chrysler's general agent in
Croatia, the concern's general delegate, Matthias Kleinert, said
after talks with Croatia's Premier Ivica Racan, Deputy Premier
Slavko Linic, and several ministers.
Kleinert said a series of Daimler-Chrysler business units were
interested in projects in Croatia.
He pointed out the talks with Premier Racan and most ministers were
a clear sign of Croatia's will and desire to co-operate. The 17-
member Daimler-Chrysler delegation is also indicative of the
concern's wish to maintain and strengthen co-operation with
Croatia, he added.
"The talks tackled manufacturing for companies which are part of
the concern, co-operation which will open new companies and new
jobs in Croatia," Premier Racan said.
Kleinert said the government's representatives acquainted the
Daimler-Chrysler delegation with the measures they would take to
enable major investing in Croatia.
Deputy Premier Linic said today's talks clearly indicated that
significant foreign investors wanted to come and invest in Croatia,
that they were sure of their investments.
"Through such investments, Croatia will be able to increase its
export and presence on the world market," he said.
