ZAGREB/PARIS, March 14 (Hina) - The first world forum of parliament upper houses gathered representatives of some 50 countries in Paris on Tuesday, including Croatian National Parliament House of Counties president Katica Ivanisevic.
The forum was attended by delegates of 53 countries which have a two-house parliament, the international relations office of the French senate, which initiated the forum, said in a statement Tuesday. The aim of the forum is to, on the one hand, strengthen interparliamentary cooperation and solidarity of upper houses, with respecting regional and national specifics, and on the other hand, extend the two-house model through better insight into the uses and importance of such a system, the organiser stressed.
