VARAZDIN, March 3 (Hina) - I am unpleasantly surprised at so harsh sentence of 45 years in prison imposed on General Tihomir Blaskic, a former commander of the HVO Central Bosnia Operational Zone, Croatia's Justice Minister, Stjepan

It is now clear that the sentence passed in the Blaskic case is an example for cases of the superior responsibility, Ivanisevic said. sentence of 45 years in prison imposed on General Tihomir Blaskic, a
former commander of the HVO Central Bosnia Operational Zone,
Croatia's Justice Minister, Stjepan Ivanisevic, said on Friday.
I expected a severe sentence of confinement but that it would be so

It is now clear that the sentence passed in the Blaskic case is an
example for cases of the superior responsibility, Ivanisevic
said.
The minister said he would like to see the verdict in order to know
exactly whether it confirms for the first time a thesis on the
international conflict, namely on Croatia's involvement in the war
in Bosnia-Herzegovina. After that he can comment on that part of the
final judgement.
Asked which documents on the 1995 "Flash" and "Storm" operations
Croatia produced to the ICTY, Ivanisevic said those were papers on
3,900 court processes for serious crimes committed during those
liberating actions.
