ZAGREB, Feb 29 (Hina) - Croatian Foreign Minister Tonino Picula on Tuesday received Council of Europe political director and representative for the Stability Pact for Southeast Europe Hans-Peter Furrer, briefing him on the new
government's intentions in connection with approaching Euro-Atlantic integration. According to a statement from the Foreign Ministry, Picula stated approaching Euro-Atlantic integration and the adoption of Europe's democratic standards were among the priorities of the government's programme. Croatia's government is resolute in its intention to fulfil all taken obligations, including the remaining obligations to the Council of Europe, said Picula, pointing out the latter had become the constituent part of the government's programme. According to a statement from the Foreign Ministry, Picula stated
approaching Euro-Atlantic integration and the adoption of Europe's
democratic standards were among the priorities of the government's

The foreign minister announced the government would also continue

Addressing the refugee return issue, Picula said it was a
comprehensive process which called for not only a political
decision, but also the ensuring of all conditions, social, cultural
and especially economic ones.
Picula also said Croatia was continuing building its identity as a
Central European and Mediterranean country, but that it was also
aware of certain obligations in the neighbouring Southeast
Europe.
Croatia will intensify work on advancing relations with neighbours
and advocate the respecting of human rights in all fields, the
minister said.
The Council of Europe political director outlined the Council's
programme in connection with the Stability Pact.
