ZAGREB, Feb 8 (Hina) - Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ) acting president Vladimir Seks on Tuesday notified the party's Presidency he did not want to run for party president. Seks also handed in his resignation to the office of party
acting president and HDZ parliamentary bench president, which the Presidency of the formerly ruling party did not accept. The Presidency relieved Drago Krpina of the office of party secretary-general, and appointed Joso Skara in his stead. Speaking to reporters after today's Presidency session, Seks said he had suggested other HDZ Presidency members too should renounce aspirations to run for party president. HDZ vice presidents Ivic Pasalic and Zlatko Canjuga have not renounced such ambitions, explaining they do not want to be limited in deciding, Seks said. It was said at today's session nobody from the HDZ Presidency was initiating the formation of a new party
