ZAGREB, Feb 3 (Hina) - At the end of its Thursday session, the House of Representatives elected presidents, vice-presidents and members of seven committees, which were not established at yesterday's session due to additional party
consultations. Zdravko Tomac of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) was elected chairman of the committee for foreign policy and Ivo Sanader of the Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ) was elected his deputy. Jadranko Mijalic of the Croatian Social Liberal Party (HSLS) was elected chairman of the committee for finances and state budget and Djuro Njavro of the HDZ was elected his deputy. The committee for tourism will be chaired by Valter Drandic of the Istrian Democratic Assembly (IDS) and Josko Kontic of the HSLS will be the committee's deputy chairman. The committee for human rights and the rights of national minorities will be chaired by Furio Radic (Italian minority representative), with SDP's Marin Jurje

Milan Kovac (HDZ) was elected chairman of the committee for
immigration and Damir Juric of the Slavonija-Baranja Croatian
Party (SBHS) will be Kovac's deputy.
Ante Simonic of the Croatian Peasants' Party (HSS) was elected head
of the committee for education, science and culture, and Ivan Cehok
of the HSLS was appointed his deputy.
The head and deputy head of the committee for complaints are Anto
Djapic of the Croatian Party of Rights (HSP) and Dubravka Horvat of
the SDP respectively.
Today's appointments complete the establishment of all (19)
committees of the House of Representatives.
