ZAGREB, Jan 17 (Hina) - Presidents of six parliamentary parties (previously known as "Opposition Six") on Monday completely harmonised a text of their coalition contract, said the "Six" co-ordinator, Ivica Racan. Racan, President of the SDP (Social Democratic Party), announced that on Thursday leaders of those parties would sign the document on the functioning of the new Government and a parliamentary majority as well as on criteria for the distribution of ministerial and parliamentary offices. ZAGREB, Jan 17 (Hina) - Presidents of six parliamentary parties (previously known as "Opposition Six") on Monday completely harmonised a text of their coalition contract, said the "Six" co- ordinator, Ivica Racan. Racan, President of the SDP (Social Democratic Party), announced that on Thursday leaders of those parties would sign the document on the functioning of the new Government and a parliamentary majority as well as on criteria for the distribution of ministerial and parliamentary offices. He said party bodies should confirm this agreement in the coming two days. "We specified modalities for the decision-making in line with the electoral results," Racan told reporters, reiterating that they would continue talks on the allocation of authorities. However, he could not guarantee that the Government would be formed by January 22 when Vlatko Pavletic, Croatia's acting President, can appoint the SDP President as new Prime Minister. Racan told reporters that he would most probably designate members of the government as soon as he was appointed as the Premier. Racan added that the new government would be constituted in compliance with the current law. After that the law would be amended and in line with those changes new appointments would be done in the government. He announced for this week the resumption of talks with President Pavletic and Premier Matesa on the transfer of authorities to those who won the recent parliamentary election. Asked about moods of presidents of the four parties that make up the block of HNS, LS, HSS and IDS, after the media showed that their presidential candidate Stipe Mesic now scored better in opinion polls than Drazen Budisa, the candidate of the SDP-HSLS coalition, Racan answered that he noticed no change in their behaviour. "At this moment I am satisfied with a level of responsibility of people who harmonised the proposal of the coalition agreement," Racan asserted. (hina) ms
