ZAGREB, Jan 15 (Hina) - Elections for the Croatian National Sabor's
House of Representatives will be conducted again at 11 polling
stations in Croatia on Sunday, January 16.
About 8,900 voters will be able to cast their ballots at polls which
will be open at 7 am.
Temporary unofficial results of this repeated voting will be
announced on Monday by the National Electoral commission.
President of the Commission Marjan Ramuscak stressed the new result
would not influence the current results.
Due to irregularities noticed at the parliamentary elections held
on January 3, the elections will be conducted again at four polling
stations in the fifth electoral unit, two polls in the eight
electoral unit, four polls in the ninth electoral unit and one
polling station in the tenth electoral unit.
The elections will be conducted again at 11 polling stations
because of too many ballots in polling boxes in relation to the
number of citizen who voted.
The National Electoral Commission believes there are two reasons
for irregularities. Either a member of an electoral committee did
not circle a voter who cast his ballot or one ballot glued to another
so voters were given to ballots.
Even though Sunday's elections will not influence the election
results, in line with the law, they must be conducted.
