CANDIDATE LEDIC PRESENTS HIS ELECTORAL PROGRAMME IN OSIJEK

OSIJEK, Jan 12 (Hina) - Economy is a cancer wound of not only Osijek, Vinkovci and Vukovar, but of entire Croatia, independent presidential candidate Ante Ledic said while presenting his electoral programme in the eastern Croatian city of Osijek Wednesday evening. He added that "a difficult and bloody job is to be expected in the restoration of economy", which demanded efforts of every individual and expert. Speaking about the current social moment, Ledic pointed to the difference between poverty and wealthy people, adding that certain people did not gain their wealth by their work, but by the abuse of circumstances. While some were in the war fighting for liberated Croatia, others were robbing the Croatian fortune, Ledic said. The Croatian Danube River region suffered great war damage, therefore if I become the president I will advocate the financial aid to the region, and every year I will come to pay tribute to Vukovar and victims who lost their lives in the defence of the town, Ledic added. The future of Slavonia is in the agriculture which should be developed and promoted to the maximum. It should not have been allowed that "Croatia only in the period between 1995 and now imported agricultural products worth US$5 billion, which caused great damage to Croatia's production".
