Prkacin's electoral headquarters, Antun Kljenak, said in Zagreb on
Saturday.
Commenting on the results of recent parliamentary elections, won by
the former opposition, Kljenak said the Croatian Democratic
Union's government had made a series of mistakes, which led to
liberalism reaching its zenith.
Prkacin said that if he were elected president of the republic, he
would reduce the president's legal, but not his constitutional
authorities. In times of high political tension, when the House of
Counties has the right to veto House of Representatives decisions,
it is not advisable to change the Constitution, he said.
Prkacin said he did not expect to be elected Croatia's new
president, and that he would use the pre-electoral campaign to
confront the candidates with high prospects of winning.
