ZAGREB, Dec 29 (Hina) - Croatia's humanitarian organisation "Caritas" on Wednesday forwarded an appeal for aid to the Venezuelan people hit by recent huge floods that claimed a great number of lives. According to assessment of the
head of Venezuelan Civil Defence, between 30,000 and 50,000 people were killed in that disaster. A national campaign for the humanitarian assistance for Venezuela will be conducted in Croatia from 1 to 9 January when Caritas offices in parishes and dioceses are to raise funds and collect all kinds of aid. A statement issued by the Croatian Caritas on Wednesday read that during the Christmas holidays Christians should feel an appeal for help to brothers who are suffering . Recalling that similar campaigns for war-stricken Kosovo and earthquake-hit Turkey were successful, this humanitarian agency thanked to everybody who took part in those actions
