ZAGREB, Dec 30 (Hina) - The Croatian teachers union "Preporod" has stated that the Partnership for Development Agreement, signed recently by the government and the leaders of four workers unions federations, carries little weight. The
goals defined by the agreement "are very general, they do not bind the government to anything or define any dynamics and implementation deadlines," the union said in a statement. It claims the government is buying time and trying to win cheap political points with the agreement since it is unable to fulfil promises made during the election campaign. Issues such as unemployment, restructuring and economic recovery, the strengthening of the rule of law, stable prices, and other goals are incorporated in the ruling coalition's election programme and its four-year programme and signing a special agreement on those goals was therefore unnecessary, the union says, claiming the agreement

federations, carries little weight.

are incorporated in the ruling coalition's election programme and
its four-year programme and signing a special agreement on those
goals was therefore unnecessary, the union says, claiming the
agreement is aimed at pacifying the unions.
