ZAGREB, Dec 24 (Hina) - After reaching an agreement with government officials on the signing of a collective work agreement for Croatian Post (HP) workers, the Croatian postal workers on Monday discontinued the strike they started on
Dec. 21. The agreement should be signed on Thursday, Dec. 27, the president of the Croatian Post and Telecommunications (HPT) Workers' Union, Jadranko Vehar, said. The agreement on the signing of the collective agreement was reached at today's meeting between the unionists and First Deputy Prime Minister Goran Granic. The Croatian Post Union and the National Union of HPT Workers went on a general strike on Dec. 21 because the government did not approve the signing of a collective work agreement which had already been initialled, demanding that the rights from the agreement be reduced to the level of the Basic Collective Agreement for Public Services.
