ZAGREB, Dec 7 (Hina) - The Croatian parliament on Friday discussed a final bill on payment transactions enabling deposit institutions to perform payment transactions. Apart from some objections, the bill was endorsed by all
parliamentary benches. Under the bill, payment transactions can be performed by deposit banks and the Croatian National Bank, Deputy Finance Minister Damir Kustrak explained. Kustrak said that the government, prompted by deputies' objections during the first reading of the bill, cancelled the regulation limiting the number of accounts a legal entity can have to five. Another regulation has been introduced, envisaging that the legal entity whose bank account has been frozen cannot open an account in another bank. The parliamentary benches agreed that the Croatian Post should continue performing payment transactions given its developed and organised postal network and suggested that savings and loan communit
