HARADINAJ INVITES RUGOVA, THAQI TO TALKS ON COALITION

PRISTINA, Nov 30 (Hina) - The president of the Alliance for Kosovo's Future (ABK), Ramush Haradinaj, on Friday sent a letter to Ibrahim Rugova and Hashim Thaqi calling for an urgent meeting on the forming of a coalition after the November 17 parliamentary elections. Haradinaj and the presidents of the Kosovo Democratic Alliance (DSK) and the Kosovo Democratic Party (DPK), Rugova and Thaqi, have not as yet met. The inaugural session of the Kosovo parliament is scheduled to be held in ten days. DPK and ABK officials have been advocating the forming of a coalition, but Rugova's party has not voiced its opinion yet. According to a suggestion by the DPK and the ABK, which has been supported by some DSK officials as well, a member of Rugova's DSK would be appointed president of Kosovo, while the prime minister would be from Thaqi's party. A member of Haradinaj's party would be appointed parliament speaker. The spokeswoman for the UN Mission in Kosovo (UNMIK), Susan Manuel, said on Thursday evening the UNMIK would not interfere in the process of negotiations aiming at establishing Kosovo institutions.
