PRISTINA, Nov 25 (Hina) - A day after the issuing of final official
results of the parliamentary elections in Kosovo, most Albanian
parties which won seats in parliament expressed readiness to enter
a coalition for the government, while the victor of the elections,
the Democratic Alliance of Kosovo, has not yet made a choice.
The new Kosovo parliament will seat 120 MPs and the constituting
session has been scheduled for December 10.
Ibrahim Rugova's Democratic Alliance of Kosovo, with 47 seats,
cannot form a government on its own, so it is expected to initiate
the forming an alliance, which it still has not done.
Ramush Hardinaj's Alliance for the Future of Kosovo, the fourth
largest in parliament, has expressed readiness to join in a
coalition of all Albanian political parties. It also criticised the
increase of seats for the Serb coalition "Povratak".
The Democratic Party of Kosovo, headed by Hashim Taqi, expects the
creation of a coalition with all Albanian powers, the party's
secretary, Jakup Krasniqi, said.
The only ones against a coalition are the National Movement for the
Liberation of Kosovo and the People's Movement for Kosovo, two
parties who acted in exile for some time, and one only one seat each
in the elections.
