DER SPIEGEL: GERMAN MERCENARY IN KOSOVO INDICTED

HAMBURG, Nov 24 (Hina) - The prosecution of the UN Mission in Kosovo (UNMIK) has issued an indicted against a former German mercenary, Roland Baretzki, for terrorism, murder and attempted murder. Monday's issue of the Hamburg weekly Der Spiegel says Baretzki is charged with having carried out a hate-motivated bomb attack on the Serb Centre for peace and tolerance in Pristina on April 18 this year. The head of the centre, Aleksandar Petrovic, was killed in the attack and four more people were seriously injured. The UN authorities have been investigating Baretzki's possible involvement in an attack on a bus with Serb civilians in Podujevo in February this year, when seven people were killed. Baretzki, who called himself Saban (Hero), fought in the Kosovo Liberation Army (OVK) in the past several years.
