The head of the centre, Aleksandar Petrovic, was killed in the attack and four more people were seriously injured. The UN authorities have been investigating Baretzki's possible involvement in an attack on a bus with Serb civilians in Podujevo in February this year, when seven people were killed. Baretzki, who called himself Saban (Hero), fought in the Kosovo Liberation Army (OVK) in the past several years. Monday's issue of the Hamburg weekly Der Spiegel says Baretzki is
charged with having carried out a hate-motivated bomb attack on the
Serb Centre for peace and tolerance in Pristina on April 18 this

Baretzki, who called himself Saban (Hero), fought in the Kosovo
Liberation Army (OVK) in the past several years. Between 1988 and
1991, he was a member of special Bundeswehr units and after a
dishonourable discharge he fought in Bosnia-Herzegovina. After the
arrival of UN peacekeepers (KFOR) in Kosovo, Baretzki opened a
security service in Pristina.
