ZAGREB, Nov 20 (Hina) - An independent parliamentary representative, Djuro Njavro, on Tuesday suggested to the Croatian government to ask the Paris Club for a more favourable arrangement, as the club recently wrote off part of
Yugoslavia's debt. Addressing a press conference, Njavro reminded that the Paris Club in 1995 rejected a request by Croatia, which was a victim of aggression and war destruction, that it write off its debt. "In this new situation, the Croatian government should again contact the Paris Club and propose that some contractual obligations be re-formulated and ask for a more favourable arrangement, which would indirectly stimulate Croatia's economic development," Njavro said. Yugoslavia's total debt amounts to USD12.2 billion and the Paris Club wrote off USD4.6 billion several days ago, he added.(hina) np sb
