BELGRADE'S POLICY IN LAST YEAR- DJINDJIC BELGRADE, Nov 16 (Hina) - Serbian Prime Minister Zoran Djindjic on Friday evening expressed satisfaction with a decision of the Paris Club of creditors to write off 66 percent of Yugoslavia's
debt. The agreement was reached on Friday evening after three-day negotiations held behind closed doors between representatives of Yugoslavia and the Paris Club of creditors. Djindjic maintains the 66 percent write-off "is the greatest success of Belgrade's policy in the last year and a half." According to the deal, the Paris Club of creditors had written off 66 percent of Yugoslavia's debt, with 51 percent to be written off immediately and 15 percent over a one-year period. The rest will be paid off over a 22-year period with a six-year delay. Yugoslavia's debt to the Paris Club is $4.5 billion, and another $7.5 billion to the London Club of creditors.(hina) it
