ZAGREB, Nov 15 (Hina) - The Croatian Parliament on Thursday adopted amendments to the Law on Veterinary Medicine, which should make possible competition in veterinary services, introduce obligatory disposal of waste of animal origin
and liberalise regulations on the control of stock produce in transport. The parliament also adopted a report on the reform of the health system and health insurance system, and the government has been committed to report on the implementation of the health reform to the parliament's Committee for Labour, Health and Social Policy every six months. MPs dismissed a motion by the Democratic Centre to commit the government to submit a report on the situation in the health system considering last month's tragedy when 23 kidney patients died during hemodialysis, and to suggest a law on the protection of the rights of patients.(hina) lml
