ZAGREB, Oct 17 (Hina) - Croatia's justice minister told parliament on Wednesday the government gives up the authority to regulate by decree certain issues from parliament's jurisdiction, namely that it moves the revocation of
legislation parliament adopted at its last session granting it that power. In the past, the government rarely used that authority and now gives it up, Minister Ingrid Anticevic-Marinovic said. All parliamentary benches turned down the proposal to rescind the law which authorises the government to pass decrees in emergency conditions when parliament does not convene. The benches maintain this authority is imperative and in compliance with the Constitution. Parliament will vote on the proposal later.(hina) ha sb
