OSCE: UPCOMING ELECTIONS IN KOSOVO BETTER THAN ONE LAST YEAR

PRISTINA, Nov 10 (Hina) - The Head of the Organisation for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) Mission in Kosovo, Daan Everts, said general elections in this southern Yugoslav province, scheduled for November 17, will be better than the municipal elections held in October 2000. First, we have learned from our mistakes last year and we will not repeat them. Second, more voters will participate in the upcoming election, close to 1.2 million. Third, more political parties will participate in the election, namely 26, and what is the most important, representatives of all ethnic communities in Kosovo will participate in the elections, Everts said on Friday evening. The OSCE reported that three non-governmental organisations and 200 international observers have been accredited to monitor the elections.(hina) it
