PULA, Oct 19 (Hina) - An association for the defence of the integrity of Croatia's territorial waters on Friday accused councillors of the Istrian Democratic Alliance (IDS) and Social Democrats (SDP) in Istria of being in favour of
ceding a part of Croatia's territory to Slovenia by supporting a draft agreement on the border with this country. The association, gathering fishermen from the area of Buje on the peninsula of Istria, was set up this summer after the Croatian and Slovene Premiers Ivica Racan and Janez Drnovsek initialled the border agreement. On Tuesday Istria County's assembly councillors welcomed the initialling of the bilateral agreement on the border. They called on the two countries' governments and parliaments to invest more efforts to reach final agreement on the frontier taking into consideration the needs of citizens living in the border area.
