BOOK ON PIRAN BAY PRESENTED IN ZAGREB

ZAGREB, Oct 1 (Hina) - A book called "Piran Bay - the Demarcation of the Territorial Sea between Croatia and Slovenia" by Kristian Turkalj was presented in Zagreb on Monday. The book was presented by consulting editors Vladimir Ibler and Hrvoje Kacic and the author. "Those making decisions on or influencing those who are making decisions on the demarcation of territorial seas between Croatia and Slovenia must read the book," academician Vladimir Ibler said. This renowned Croatian and world expert in international law believes "it was not advisable" to neglect the role of international courts in the entire issue of Piran Bay. He maintains the position not to settle before an international court is wrong. "Such a standpoint is a negation of the international law and I condemn it," said Ibler. Stressing that every part of the territorial waters is part of Croatian state territory, Ibler said the book aimed to "make solutions easier." Stressing it was an impressive book, Kacic said the book's title includes two separate issues - Piran Bay and demarcation in Trieste Bay. Croatia and Slovenia can find a solution for the demarcation of territorial seas if both approach the issue professionally and conscientiously.
