Ivica Racan on Thursday signed a book of condolence at the Croatian-American Society in Zagreb, opened after Tuesday's terrorist attacks on the U.S.Racan once again expressed condolences to the citizens of the United States and the American Government. Racan was accompanied by foreign and defence ministers Tonino Picula and Jozo Rados, who also signed the book of condolence. The prime minister recalled the government had reached a decision to make the upcoming Friday a day of mourning "as a sign of Croatia's solidarity with and sympathy for America". Racan also called on citizens to pay tribute to the American victims with a minute of silence at noon Friday.
