Racan was accompanied by foreign and defence ministers Tonino Picula and Jozo Rados, who also signed the book of condolence. The prime minister recalled the government had reached a decision to make the upcoming Friday a day of mourning "as a sign of Croatia's solidarity with and sympathy for America". Racan also called on citizens to pay tribute to the American victims with a minute of silence at noon Friday.
