ZAGREB, Sept 11 (Hina) - Croatian President Stipe Mesic met with the US Ambassador to Croatia, Lawrence Rossin, on Tuesday at his own request, condemning the US terrorist attacks and offering his condolences to the American people,
and the victims' relatives. Mesic stated the attacks were not just acts of terrorism, but an "act of war against the United States and the entire civilised world," his political advisor Tomislav Jakic told the press. The Croatian President pointed out the importance of the control and prevention of the uncontrollable spread of nuclear weapons, reminding this tragedy could have been much greater if the terrorists had access to nuclear weapons. Ambassador Rossin stated the attacks were an act of cowardice, and that there was no way to predict how exactly the US would answer them, only pointing out that, once the identity of the culprits was established, the response would be relentless.

The Croatian President pointed out the importance of the control

Ambassador Rossin stated the attacks were an act of cowardice, and

Currently, all the efforts aim at discovering who the responsible
party is.
President Bush will then reach a decision to insure something like
this never happens again, Ambassador Rossin said.
