BOSNIAN AUTHORITIES CONDEMN US TERRORIST ATTACKS

SARAJEVO, Sept 11 (Hina) - After it was evident a large number of people were killed in the US terrorist attacks on Thursday, chairman of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Jozo Krizanovic sent a letter of condolences to the US President George W. Bush. Please accept the condolences of the Bosnian government and people. Our thoughts are with the American people, the letter read. Bosnian Foreign Ministry spokesman Amer Kapetanovic told the Sarajevo press his government condemns the terrorist attacks which he labelled "acts of cowardice", and stated the international community should jointly adopt measures to prevent such attacks and punish the culprits. He confirmed the Bosnian diplomatic staff in New York and Washington were safe, and none were injured. The Public Relations Office of the US Embassy in Sarajevo told Hina the US diplomatic mission there will be closed September 12-14, and no consular duties will be carried on during that period. Bosnian state television and radio have interrupted its regular programme from the early hours of the afternoon and are currently broadcasting updates on the US terrorist attacks. (hina) js
