BELGRADE, Aug 9 (Hina) - The international war crimes tribunal in
The Hague has all the necessary evidence for an indictment against
Milosevic for crimes committed in Kosovo, but does not have
evidence to support charges of genocide, the tribunal's chief
prosecutor's advisor, Jean-Jacques Joris, told Belgrade's radio B-
92.
The chief prosecutor's statement that there is insufficient
evidence against Milosevic for genocide was misinterpreted in the
media, Joris stated.
The misunderstanding occurred because Carla del Ponte said the
evidence acquired during the investigation in Kosovo were not
sufficient to support genocide, but serve excellently in support of
charges for crimes against humanity and other crimes.
Joris recalled two enquiries are currently underway against
Milosevic -- one connected to the war in Croatia, and the other to
the war in Bosnia-Herzegovina.
We are searching for any possible evidence for every crime.
Milosevic will most probably be charged of genocide, but this all
depends on the amount of evidence we collect, Joris asserted.
