establishment of a new political party - Croatian Genuine Rebirth
(HIP).
Growing polarisation and division among the people, the deepening
of social and economic crisis are main reasons for the formation of
the new party, Miroslav Tudjman said on news conference in Zagreb.

called 'HIP' as well
The party's main objectives are the promotion of fundamental
national values, on which Croatia was established, as well as the
development of a modern country with successful economy and
developed social welfare.
Another goal is to form new league - a coalition of opposition
parties joined in Croatian Block - which would be the alternative to
the incumbent ruling coalition.
The final aim, Tudjman emphasised, was a change of incumbent
authorities in a democratic way in order to help the country to step
out of a national crisis and succeed in solving social and economic
problems.
A member of HIP leadership, Nenad Ivankovic, denied media reports
that Tudjman plans to run for country's president. Ivankovic
asserted that on Monday he told journalists that Tudjman had a
potential to be country's president, but that he did not want to
stand for the post.
The formation of the HIP party will start in September and its
managing board will recommend Miroslav Tudjman for its president.
