COURT STILL HAS NO INFORMATION ON SECOND HAGUE INDICTEE

ZAGREB, July 16 (Hina) - The Zagreb County Court has not received any information from the Zagreb police or Interior Ministry about the Hague indictee for whom an arrest warrant was issued on Friday, July 13, Zagreb County Court Vice-President Damir Kos said on Monday. "The warrant for the arrest of the Hague indictee was forwarded to the Interior Ministry and Zagreb police but we have not received any information from them yet," Kos said. Officials at the Interior Ministry would not say whether and how many times they tried to find the Hague indictee at his permanent Zagreb address. Interior Ministry spokeswoman Zinka Bardic only said the Zagreb County Court was competent for all the information. Officials at the Zagreb police department would not give any information either and a senior department official simply disregarded a question at today's news conference on whether the police had visited the indictee at his address. If the police fail to find the indictee and the investigating judge assesses that he is at large, he can order the Interior Ministry to issue an arrest warrant. Should the police obtain information that the indictee is outside the country, it is possible the ministry will issue an international arrest warrant through Interpol. The media speculate that, along with indictee Rahim Ademi, the Hague court also indicted retired general Ante Gotovina. (hina) rml
