BELGRADE, July 3 (Hina) - Yugoslav President Vojislav Kostunica on
Tuesday afternoon held another round of consultations about the
appointment of a new federal prime minister and government, this
time with the president of Montenegro's Socialist People's Party
(SNP), Pregrad Bulatovic, who did not exclude the possibility of
forming another government in coalition with the DOS.
On Monday, Kostunica held consultations with party colleagues from
the DOS ruling coalition. The federal government entered a crisis
after PM Zoran Zizic, one of SNP's vice presidents, resigned over
last week's extradition of former Yugoslav President Slobodan
Milosevic to the Hague war crimes tribunal.
The origins of the crisis actually date further back, when
government members from the ranks of the SNP continually boycotted
the passing of a decree on Yugoslavia's cooperation with the Hague
tribunal.
The Montenegrin party is now trying to return to the federal
government, counting on "not bearing the burden of the extradition"
and aware that the federal government cannot be formed without it,
given the situation in the federal parliament.
The new PM must be from the SNP again, Bulatovic said after today's
talks with Kostunica.
Later today the Yugoslav President will hold consultations about
the formation of a new federal government with representatives of
Montenegro's Serb People's Party (SNS) and the People's Party (NS).
These, together with the SNP, constitute Montenegro's "Together
for Yugoslavia" coalition.
The ruling parties in Montenegro do not participate in the federal
authorities, which only include parties of a pro-Milosevic and pro-
Yugoslav orientation.
