ZAGREB, June 1 (Hina) - Croatia's parliament on Friday wrapped up a discussion on a bill of amendments to the islands law. During the debate, many MPs stressed that water supplies, links with the mainland and possibilities for
investments were three issues the settlement of which would help local inhabitants to remain living on islands. The amendment, drawn up by the government, envisage 13 programmes, and responsible factors for their implementation. The programmes refer to the construction of a water supplies system, the subsidies for transport by ship and the other relevant issues. So far Zagreb has earmarked 390 million kuna for the programmes, and in the future the government is expected to secure 470 million kuna for such purposes.(hina) ms
