ZAGREB ZAGREB, May 23 (Hina) - Greek President Konstantinos Stefanopulos on Wednesday arrived in a three-day visit to Croatia where he is to hold talks with Croatian senior officials which will strengthen bilateral political relations
and encourage economic cooperation by signing a maritime trade agreement.

on Wednesday arrived in a three-day visit to Croatia where he is to
hold talks with Croatian senior officials which will strengthen
bilateral political relations and encourage economic cooperation

The visit of the Greek President, who arrived in Zagreb at the
invitation of Croatian President Stipe Mesic, is the first visit of
a Hellenic President to independent Croatia, as well as the first
visit of the president of a EU member-country after Croatia
initialled a Stabilisation and Association Agreement with the
European Union.
During the war in the region, Greece was favouring Serbs, however,
Greek-Croatian political relations are constantly improving, and
Greece supports Croatia's efforts invested in joining the European
Union.
Croatia and Greece are members of the Southeast Europe Cooperation
Process (SEEPC) and the Adriatic-Ionian Initiative.
