ZAGREB, May 18 (Hina) - About 3.8 million voters will go to the polls in Croatia this Sunday to elect councillors in 422 municipal and 123 town councils, the Zagreb City Assembly and 20 county assemblies, the president of the State
Election Commission (DIP), Ivica Crnic, told reporters on Friday. The number of councillors to be elected depends on individual municipalities, towns and counties and ranges from seven to 51. Special polling stations have been set up for displaced persons. The first preliminary results are expected on Sunday, around 9 pm, when the media blackout is over. About 160 foreign observers will monitor the vote (some 260 foreign observers monitored the local election four years ago).(hina) sb rml
